Description

This subject deals with basic economic, legal and technical
aspects of insurance taking into account its
multidisciplinary character. Students become familiar with
the following: the idea of insurance and mechanisms of its
functioning, functions of insurance, types of insurance,
parties and documents in insurance, the idea of premium,
risk, damages and compensation, re-insurance and
co-insurance, marketing in insurance, tariff formation in
insurance, social insurance and global tendencies in
development of insurance. One of the course objectives is
to make students familiar with the degree of insurance
market development in Serbia, as well as the prospects of
its further development.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the program students are able to
understand the essence of the insurance concept, to
understand the key aspects of insurance such as economic,
legal and organisational and technical. Students are able
to identify certain risks, to conduct insurance business
independently in insurance companies and to competently
involve in activities of insurance companies and
intermediaries in the form of insurance brokerages.
