Description

The goal of this course is to introduce the students with
key concepts and possibilities of information technology.
The students are introduced with basic elements of
information systems, the phases of information systems
implementation and development (planning, projecting,
programing, testing, implementation, maintenance) as well
as security measures. The special attention is given to the
business use of information systems as a prerequisite for
later use of acquired knowledge and skills within real life
business system. The course is designed in a way to enable
the students to acquire a mixture of theoretical and
practical skills. The course represents a great base for
further continuing education in information technologies
and through the practical part of the course covering ECDL
training the goal in the area of business software use and
expertise acquiring is also accomplished.

Learning outcomes

(max. 50 words)

After successful completion of this course the student will
be able to understand the operating concept and the
elements of the modern business information systems and
will be able to easily become a part of the specific
business unit within a company and to use the possibilities
and advantages the information systems offer to a user. The
student will be able to work in a teams which require the
use of business informatics. Also, this course will enable
the student to continuously and permanently improve
knowledge and skills in this area.
